Connection. Meaningful conversation. For months, these life elements have been at the very top of my heaping piles of endless other thoughts…other thoughts of any mother in her late thirties, I suppose. You name it…dinner ideas, kids activities, life dreams, tackling that 10 pounds, and that constant thought of really needing to trim our dachshunds...
Skye, Love the idea and will definitely give it a try. Here at the Restwel we have coffee with strangers all of the time. We do enjoy getting aquatinted with our customers in this way but it’s not the same as what you are doing. Having coffee with someone you don’t know in a deliberate fashion would be so rewarding. Of course, making new friends would be an added benefit. Good luck with the experience.
Skye, you have never had a meaningful conversation at a sewing group. We know that this may be the last conversation we have with that person as we live in God’s waiting room. In hindsight, having a cup of meaningful conversation with a stranger would have made my life richer.
It appears I was drawn to your blog through others’ comments on your Oprah post to read this in order to focus my attention upon those conversations I can and should be having with friends, family, and those strangers brought into my life for a purpose I haven’t realized yet.
Thank you!
